An inspection hood is a type of hood fitted with an inspection window—or simply an observation port—to facilitate the monitoring of the conveyor belt’s internal operating conditions. This feature allows for the visual inspection of the conveyor’s status and also enables the backfilling of spilled bulk materials.
Inspection hoods are categorized into various types, including those featuring transparent observation windows, upward-opening windows, horizontal (left-to-right) sliding windows, and vertical (up-and-down) sliding windows. Regardless of the specific design adopted, all inspection hoods must be properly waterproofed to prevent significant amounts of rainwater from entering the interior of the conveyor system.
Inspection Hood Ratio: Typically, one set of inspection hoods is installed for every 10 to 20 standard hood positions; the exact quantity is determined based on the specific requirements of the project owner.
